About Open Edit Guide.

An unofficial English-language guide to image-editing choices, with a focus on practical boundaries and project-owned sources.

Independence and names.

Open Edit Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by ArtCraft, PhotoCraft, Adobe, GIMP, or Krita. Product names identify the software discussed and remain the names or marks of their respective owners. Open Edit is this guide’s editorial identity, not an official product identity.

Design and assets.

The Open Edit “Folded O” mark is original geometric SVG artwork created for this guide. The same folded-corner shape identifies the header, footer, and favicon; it is not an ArtCraft or PhotoCraft product logo. Official PhotoCraft screenshots illustrate the product; they are not our own captures or evidence of hands-on testing. This site uses device-installed system sans-serif and serif font stacks; it does not bundle third-party font files.

Official screenshot sources.

The homepage and PhotoCraft gallery use project-published interface screenshots. All four source image files are stored locally without modification. The homepage hero displays its complete screenshot at the original aspect ratio below the text, with a subtle bottom fade. The homepage’s illustrated sections and the PhotoCraft gallery display the images without that decorative fade. The project describes its screenshots as real application output rendered offscreen through its control channel.

UI credit: ArtCraft Team and PhotoCraft contributors. The project identifies the depicted artworks as public domain in its image source record ↗. These images are reproduced for product documentation. Source-code licensing does not automatically license trademarks or all bundled assets; see the project license and credits ↗. We do not reproduce the restricted ArtCraft brand asset files or imply endorsement.

Evidence and review method.

Product claims are drawn from official project pages, versioned repository documentation, and release notes. Our PhotoCraft reference release is v0.7.0, dated October 11, 2026. Editorial review: October 12, 2026. A reference release is not a claim about the latest available version.

We distinguish documented capabilities from editorial suggestions and do not present this guide as hands-on software testing. No installation, speed benchmark, stability trial, or PSD / PSB round-trip result is claimed. Check current official documentation before making a production decision.
